BUT, there is one thing you could try first. Disconnect the negative side of the battery and leave it off for 3 or 4 minutes before reconnecting it. This will give the cars "computer" a kick and often well fixs this type of problem.
I replaced the radio with a used one from eBay, which solved the issue for the past 3 years of daily driving. That being said, it just happened again yesterday evening. Ford focus radio display is out. The display of the radio has micro contactes around the edges of the display. The cleaning agent used to clean the dash area could have been damaged.
